WE LOVE IT.It's not what it is traditional thought of as DUCT tape. It's thin, pure vinyl, no cloth in it.We use it to bundle cables and pull through conduits while we're relocating equipment. It has a rayon/silky feel which makes it slide across surfaces easy. Micro-ridges impressed into the tape crosswise make it easy to tear. We rarely see any residue left behind on the cables which could be a problem for us. These prices are way too high though. You can do better with research. See U-Line

Wagner Power Products 282018 1-Gallon Wallpaper Steamer Reviews By Customers

If you decide to remove wallpaper yourself, definitely get this machine. Here are some of the things that may be helpful when you use the machine.

1. Have a large bucket nearby and place the steam plate in there while the machine warms up. It take a while before the steam starts. When it first starts, it'll squirt steam and water out from the plate, so have the plate in the bucket until it's completely "steamy". Otherwise, you'll have water squirting everywhere.

2. I didn't have to use Paper Tiger to make little holes... I tried it, but it didn't help.

3. I was able to peel off some of the wallpaper (outer layer) directly (without doing anything to it). The whole sheet just comes off. Then I would use the steamer to heat up the inner layer, using Zinsser remover... works great.

4. Find something else to do, like watching TV or listening to music because you'll be doing this for a while. You're limited by the speed of the steamer. You have to spend at least 5-10 seconds at each spot and you can only remove 8x10 at a time. So if you have a large room to do, it will take a long time.

I did see a 905 steamer... looks a lot prettier but I would assume that people are removing wallpaper to save money, so why spend more unless it offers a lot more benefit?

Lightweight and easy to use - T. Teegarden -
This works much better than the commercial models, it's lighter and distributes the steam more evenly. I don't know if it makes any difference but I used distilled water, our tap water isn't the best in the world by a long shot. It does great for going back over and getting the rest of the glue off, too. I took the big attachment off the end and used it to clean spills and grease off the side of the kitchen stove. Always wear gloves, that steam is hotter than you think! That was a brilliant understatement, wasn't it?!

I was getting so frustrated with trying to get border off even after buying and trying Dif and spraying that on like crazy (which didn't work at all!)..I was even snapping at my husband because I was so frustrated....So I looked online for a better solution and bought this steamer...and WOW...it worked awesome....I was able to finish a 15'x 15' room in about 2 hours and didn't run out of water at all...I used a Pampered Chef scraper and the residue scraped off very easily after steaming. It was truly amazing!! I know this doesn't sound very safe but I also used this as a humidifier for my stuffed up 6 month old as I put her in her exersaucer while I was steaming border off and it really helped her breathe a lot easier....I highly recommend this product...Thank you to the other reviewers for prompting me to buy this!!

This product allowed me to paint under the eaves of my roof in spots where the boards were out of reach from my ladder. It screws onto a standard paint pole thread (the poles are available at any paint supply store). A standard paintbrush is held very tightly via a conbination of a bar/two screws at the top which clamp the brush handle at the bristle end and a single screw at the bottom which goes thru the hole in the brush handle. You can adjust the brush angle by loosening a 4th screw to get into those odd corners. Easy to use-the only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that you can't instantly remove the brush-it takes about a minute to loosen all 3 screws holding the brush to take it off the holder.

Duct tape is so doggone versatile! I am not very competent as a handy man, but duct tape (and I love this version, Duck Tape) can repair many a mistake that I've made.

This is pretty heavy duty stuff and holds up well. I was especially pleased a couple months ago when my son mentioned that something of his was broken, and he was looking for duct tape to fix it! To know that my son has picked up some handy man stuff from me was a revelation!

Anyhow, this is a good product. Each time I buy one of these, it lasts quite awhile. But I have been a satisfied customer. . . .

We have some of these at work that we have been using for over 10 years. They still work and look like new so I figured I would see if I could find the newer model of this dispenser for my home use. Guess what? It's the same exact item it was years ago. I cannot see a single difference.
It works perfectly and does not take up a ton of space. I really like the pick up and go design without a big handle or other parts to get in the way. It does it's job perfectly. Applying tape to a box. Great design, compact and it just works. Love it.

I read the disgruntled reviews claiming this sprayer does not work with latex--but they were wrong! I used it with thinned latex opaque stain and paint (used Floetrol and water) and it did the job just fine.

Perhaps you need to choose the right paint. Some latex paints these days have extra filler (probably to cover better) to the point that they are the consistency of pudding. I'd steer clear of the extra bulky latex if you plan to spray with it. I've found that Valspar is among the thickest but Behr was responsive to thinning without breaking down as was Benjamin Moore.

This tool was a great time saver for repainting a wicker chair set, doors, and furniture. Overspray was minimal and the trigger was responsive. I especially liked the easy setup and cleanup. This is is not the tool to repaint your house, but for many other projects it's a gem. And for the price, it's hard to beat.

Whether or not you will like this product depends almost entirely on what you're painting how you view painting.

IF, like my husband, you want to get a lot of paint on a lot of walls quickly, so you can mark that task off of your list, this will become an indispensable weapon in your "get-it-done" arsenal, and it probably won't be as huge a concern for you that you get every single last molecule of paint out of the machine. (My husband has gone through two of these in older models)

IF, like me, you are looking for a perfect finish coat, and you are, like me, annoyingly meticulous about your tidiness, you will find yourself moving the roller slowly enough to prevent splattering and to perfect the coverage, leaving you holding the weight of the roller, hose and a quart of paint (over your head if you are doing a ceiling) for a long, exhausting time.

HAVING SAID THAT, our rooms are big, and I will use it over and over again for my new-construction prime coat in whole rooms. Even a thick, good quality roller has me dipping about every four square feet, with the heaviness of our interior wall texture. I will also use it when painting a lot of wall area a single color. I am just not tough enough to use it for ceilings.

Being 5'3", I really appreciate the LONG HOSE. It eliminates any need for a battery-powered unit, just to deal with changing batteries. Park the thing by the closest outlet and go.

EXTENSION TUBE: It greatly enhances my puny wingspan, so I don't have to reposition the ladder and everything else nearly so often.

EDGER: I was disappointed in the surface area of the edger. Flocked edgers like those tend to push the paint more than depositing it on the wall anyway, but with no more surface area than has available, I eventually just gave up on the drooling mess and threw it in a bucket of soapy water until I could finish.

CORNER TOOL: The corner tool was not as frustrating as the edger, largely because the motion used to paint the corners is already up-and-down, and will hook up the drips by default. However, because I already have a brush in my hand for cutting-in the ceiling, it seems like a waste of time to load the tool for four corners and clean the bugger later.

PAINT SHIELD: Don't go without it. If your pressure on the roller is not perfectly even, (it won't be) the roller joint will gap and drip intermittently. This item realy helps.

The claim that you can paint 53 square feet per minute is a little deceiving. If you just turn on the paint flow and go, at virtually any speed, you will find yourself in a drooly mess. The roller core is HUGELY improved from the versions previous, but it still will not provide consistent distribution throughout the roller, so you will still be back-rolling to even out the coverage.

The extensive cleaning was completely expected, so I was not upset by it. The claim that you can run the paint back into the can using the motor is also misleading. (It does not run backwards into the can, you have to run it through the paint hose.) You don't want to run the pump dry, so you have to hook it up to water to do it, and it isn't hard to figure out that you will be running water into the can in very short order. It may have reduced waste slightly, but hardly worth promoting the idea. I very much appreciate the quick-clean hose attachment. You just hook up a garden hose and it runs out both directions until the water runs clear. You can't skip the soap phase, but for rinsing, it is perfect.

If you purchase this product with realistic goals, you will be pleased with it. If you would like to think of this as a magic wand that will take the work out of painting and deliver a home-magazine-award-winning finish, you will be bitterly disappointed. Painting is work. The question is in how you want to distribute your energy doing it.

It works good, till it breaks.. - V -
I actually bought this to help paint the stucco exterior of my house. Got one wall done and started down another and "snap snap.." You could hear the motor freewheeling. I was using a 5gal bucket at the time and deduced a paint glob from the top drying a little got sucked up in it. As I just got the thing from the hardware store I exchanged it and filtered all the rest of the paint into 1 gal cans and it did the job. Saved a ton of time, I'll give it that. Cleaned it out real good and put it away.

A few weeks later I went to do an inside paint job. Stuck a brand new gallon of paint in and as soon as it started pumping paint up the hose to the attachments "SNAP!" then freewheeling motor, same as the first one. This time I took it all apart after flushing water through it. There was a tiny chunk of hardened paint that killed it. The way this thing pumps is using rollers against the plastic tubing to push the paint through. ANY obstruction will stop the rollers. There's plastic gearing, of course, and the real kicker is the main drive rod for the "pump" is a 1/4" plastic rod. This is the weak point that broke. Imagine using a plastic toy wrench to tighten bolts with, that's what this basically amounts to.

Unless you're gonna buy this to use on one big job and be done with it I wouldn't ever suggest using this thing. If you already have one that hasn't broke yet, make sure you run TONS of water through it while it's running to clean it. This should flush any paint out of the pump itself. That, and filter all your paint to get and globs out. I'm trying to epoxy the "pump" back together on mine to see if I can get a little more use out of it. For the time it saved me on the stucco I got my money's worth, but it's still very cheaply made.

I have the 980 and it works great 990 has a variable speed feed which would help with keeping the pad soaked (see my comment on saturation)

HOWEVER, I wouldn't break it out unless I had a full room to do. Very easy to keep just the right saturation on the roller so painting goes super fast, but cleanup is a good 30-45 minute operation. Put the roller in a plastic bag (wrapped tightly) between coats so it doesn't dry out and you can do your second coat 4 hours later with no cleaning involved.

The technique I used to keep the roller at the right saturation was to "Pulse" the button. Press the button for a second every every 4 or 5 seconds, if it starts to get too wet you wait longer between pulses, if it starts to get too dry you shorten the time between pulses.

I had a broken part on my power roller which didn't affect the function - Wagner sent me a replacement, no questions asked (Use email though, their phone support is lame)

A waste of a perfectly good landfill - Gone2lunch -
This POS worked for exactly 8 minutes before the motor conked out. I tried using the edger on its own since I needed one and as the other reviewer said, its postage-stamp size and thin flock covering made it equally useless. In the brief time the actual machine worked, I did notice a little dripping although the coat seemed reasonably even - but then I wasn't holding it for a long period. For me, this alleged power tool was the definition of crap-tastic.

Nothing like the old Goof Off - this reformulated version has no muscle! - Read Rover - FL
I miss the old Goof Off. It was a much more powerful acetone or lighter fluid based product that worked fast and evaporated away leaving nothing behind. This is the "new" reformulated biodegradable "soy formula" and it's as weak as a kitten by comparison to not only the old formula but also it's closest competition, "Goo Gone". They have even attempted to add a citrus smell to the product like Goo Gone has always had.

I use both Goo Gone and Goof Off to remove labels and stickers from all sorts of surfaces to include coated and non-coated paper, plastic, wood etc... Goof Off is very ineffective when compared alongside Goo Gone. In fact, in one case in particular I had to use Goo Gone to remove a label that no amount of Goof Off was removing. Let's just say I'm glad I bought the small bottle. For the removal of oil,grease,crayons etc.. Goof Off does an adequate job.

While I agree that there should be effort made to control the amount of harmful and dangerous chemicals we use, the active ingredients in the old version are hardly unavailable in other forms and products.

Beware of this Product! - Alan Barker -
The label on this product reads "Guaranteed under all clear wood finishes" and it claims to be a "dewaxed shellac." Well it isn't "dewaxed" enough. We had two floors sealed with this product then covered it with Defthane urethane varnish. The work was done by a professional contractor who specializes in fine woodwork. In a matter of weeks the floor began peeling like a bad sunburn. Zinsser has since changed the label and will not stand behind the product. After two inquiries, they have stopped responding to our contractor's emails and the person handling our file is conveniently out of the office. Bad product, bad company.

I bought these over-priced sanding pads for my PC detail sander. The fit is all wrong for the profile but otherwise worked OK. You are much better off buying 5" sticky back sanding disks and cutting them into pie shapes. Much better profile and way cheaper.

this tape is does not stick - liseetsa mann - United States
we have other colors, two greens, a purple, etc... all work just fine. for whatever reason, this color does not stick. finding strips of it on the floor minutes after applying it. try the purple and green. they've been removed several times and go right back on.

I owned the Scunci hand-held steam cleaner a few years ago and liked it...but it broke a few years ago after a few years' use, and i've been without one since, so I went on the hunt of another steam cleaner, and after reading all the good reviews for the Wagner 905, I decided to give it a try. I just got my Wagner 905 steam cleaner today and have taken on cleaning the mildew out of the crevices of our shower (which is one of the main reasons i bought it). It did a great job on the mildew!! Like some others said...it does not seem to be doing too good a job on soap scum, though. I'm going to try some soap scum remover/cleaner and then do some more steaming if i need to after that. That being said, I've let the soap scum and mildew build up for longer than I'd like to admit, so if your shower has less soap scum than mine, then maybe the Wagner 905 would work better for you on the soap scum. The steamer made quick work of removing the mildew in the crevices, let me tell you! I will say, it IS LOUD because it is so powerful (reminds me of the noise of an air compressor makes when the air comes out (not the motor part of the compressor, but the air-flow part).....so I would DEFINITELY recommend using hearing protection while using this...at least in the bathroom/a smaller space. But it is much more powerful steam than I remember the Scunci hand-held steamer having! And it seems to be built very well/sturdy. It comes with a little funnel, but I wish it would have also come with a measuring cup, though. Overall, based on my results so far, I would definitely recommend this product! Check Special Price!

We were looking for something to clean the shower,glass and the tracks for the sliding doors.Was considering the shark,until I found the wagner 905 does wallpaper steaming plus other jobs around the house.I read some reviews and liked what I read.Of course there is always someone who will not like the product for whatever reasons.We decided to go ahead and order the steamer and it came in three days.It was easy to assemble (not much to do) and I tried it on the shower first.I removed the sliding doors to make the job easy,and started cleaning.It cleaned out the tracks no problem using the high pressure nozzle and a brush,the job was done in no time.I changed to the squeegie attatchment and did the glass,I had to work a little harder but it got the job done.A few days later on my day off I started on the pantry wallpaper.I followered the instructions for wallpaper steaming,and got the job done in about an hour.Some places I had to go over depending on how much paste was used on the paper,but it all came off no problem.It gets a little messy cause while it's steaming some water runs down the wall,no other place for it to go,but other wise we were very satisfied with it's performance.One thing would be nice if they could put a drain on the bottom on the machine,to remove any water when you are through,but it's not a big deal to turn it over to drain it for storage.I would definately recommend this product.

I had asked my husband for a Shark steam mop for Christmas. We have tons of tile in our house and I can never get the grout clean and the tile takes alot of scrubbing. Thankfully my husband researches everything and instead he got me the wagner steamer. I cannot believe how clean it got the grout without alot of effort. Not to mention how clean the floors are. In addition the floors stay cleaner. It has been my understanding with carpets and I guess it is true for tile, that soap attracts dirt. Another thing I recently noticed is the house smells clean. I have two large Akitas. Because the are older they spend more time in the house when the thermostat dips below 20. In the past we would have dog smell. Since I started using the steamer, I don't have dog smell. There doggieness must have been sticking to the soap on the floor. I actually look forward to cleanning the floors.

The product specification indicated it was silicon carbide (a premium abrasive) The vendor shipped aluminum oxide ( a lower cost abrasive which is not as sharp). When I inquired the vendor insisted they were equivilant. This vendor continues to offer a material they do not intend to supply.
